There are fault-based grounds that you can use when filing for a divorce, but Massachusetts allows for divorce based on there simply being an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage, which means you do not need to prove fault in order to get divorced. You just need one of the spouses to believe that your marriage has broken down to the point that it cannot be fixed.
